  • Who owns and runs the vine?

I just read the flowerpot man response from sarzWiz.

It got me thinking? How much profit does this forum make and for whom? Is it owned by newscorp for instance or is it a non profit organisation that plié the dough back into community gardening projects.

Or does it just feed and prop p the magazine.

Either way is a fantastic resource that I am proud to post on. I am learning so much about everything. Not just growing your own.

    Loving my allotment!

The magazine is owned by Aceville publications who publish a range of magazines in the realm of crafts, country living and outdoor pursuits. So this one fits in nicely!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

The advertising allows the forum to be run without a subscription charge, as hosting it, keeping the servers running and updating the forum software all costs money. There is no requirement for users to buy or subscribe to the magazine. We moderators are all unpaid volunteers. Does that help?

Well, I hope that you all get a free mag at least.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

While actual advertising is not allowed there is a thread somewhere on here that you can post pictures of your hobby/pastime (assuming that making flowerpot men is not your livelihood)

That's the issue BB; hobbies are fine, business is not. Particularly when you only join to post what just amounts to pretend posts just to get people to click on your homepage which then links to your ebay site....etc.

If you only knew how many people/newbies try different tactics to get round this...
