  • what's you favourite Supermarket and why

I must admit that my favourite (only because it was nearest) was Somerfield. The staff were always friendly and there didn't seem to be too many 'Admin Rules or Regs'. It was a friendly chummy sort of place. The premises were taken over by Waitrose (of all people). The shop where yuppies are happy to be seen. It didn't go down too well with the Bridport folk who are I believe to be among the lowest paid community. However, it has transpired, that Waitrose has a strict 'sell by' strategy that we dorset folk soon appreciated. We flock down there on a Sunday afternoon to bag up the goodies.

    I love Waitrose.

I'm with MOM, I used to love Waitrose when we were in UK. It tends to be Carrefour these days but that's just because it is the closest

          I hate them all.

If I could get 9p noodles elsewhere, I'd never set foot in one again.

I have to admit I'm not keen on any of the supermarkets round here but give me a SuperU, Carrefour or Leclerc and I'm a happy bunny

I hate them all too for so many reasons. Only go in one about every couple of months to buy loo rolls and the like in bulk.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm with Incy on this one. Why is it the aforementioned are so much better than the likes of Tescos etc?

The biggest Tesco's Hypermarket in the UK for me!

Purely because it's a stones throw from my house though!

If Tesco had their way then we'd all have no choice but shop at Tesco

Living beside Tesco city I haven't got much choice but I prefer Morrisons.I go to both to catch special offers so I'm a shopping tart

Competition is what it is all about and as long as the consumer picks and mixes monopolies cannot happen. The market place is where the value of all things is established.

And [alleged] bribes to the local council to allow out of town shopping which rips the heart out of local shops.

I was sat outside a Tesco earlier and just spent time reflecting on their huge 'Helping you spend less every day' banner....and just looking at the sheer amount of 'buy me - buy me' signs around the place - you could hardly see the ceiling for the signs.........

Wouldn't it be nice to produce all that we need and never go to a supermarket again! Yet how many of us could, or would, live without them. I think we are brainwashed!!
