  • What a yucky day

It's cold, it's windy, and it's raining. Been busy indoors, making leek and potato soup, and fruit salad. But it's dark already and it's not even one o'clock in the afternoon. I hate this time of the year.

The wind here is blowing the clouds away and there's a glimmer of sunshine.

Fire lit- smell of food cooking for our visitors later.....

Perfect day for me to be writing my Xmas cards!!!!

      I KNOW!!!

...but we're in the UK next week and my mom will post them for me later on- at about half the price!!!

It certainly is dark, wet and windy enough for a December day ( although it's still pretty warm here!)
Can't complain really after the warm Autumn we've had so far!

Rubbish, innit? On the other hand, it gives me an opportunity to pretend that Lee Majors ISN'T in his 70s (watching The Fall Guy), cook Parkin (currently baking) and eat curried pumpkin soup.

I didn't dare try and tack up Henry. He looked like a soggy rat, poor pony and Chloe was galloping around in a constant 'high energy' state. I guess she doesn't 'do' bad weather! I did eventually entice her into the field shelter, the big wuss!

Oh and I repaired my pumpkin that some thoughtless f*****t kicked last night, for no apparent reason. Maybe I was supposed to leave a pile of money and cakes for the begging bar stewards when I went out? Anyway, back to Colt Seavers and his pick up truck...

Started off very wet and windy ( the wind woke me up at 6am ) brighter by 10am and only a couple of showers still windy though.

Now there's cheerful, Brengirl - however I think it is time for me to turn the SAD light on! I hate that combo of feeling tired/ sluggish/ depressed!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

A SAD light. What a good idea. Instead of group hugs lets have a SAD light session I have always felt deprived at this time of year.

Bit waspish Bren - I started off just having a gentle moan at the bad weather and lack of daylight - group hugs are a bit scarce when you live alone. But the soup was lovely.
