  • What are you looking forward to?

Just something to help cheer us up as we seem down on the vine at the moment.
Just woundering what us vines are looking forward to doing/achiving in the garden this year.

    Me:-
    Extending the veg patch.
    Building the huge greenhouse.
    Building the raised beds.
And I`m sure there will be alot more.

It's funny, I'm not down at all. Even though I lost a significant amount of £ to rogue builders last week, the police statement is now finished and due process will follow - I feel surprisingly upbeat.

I'm alive, so are the family and Spring is in the air. Life goes on.

I'm looking forward to building my pea and bean frame this week, to collecting Toms/chillis from PW on Saturday, and to building raised beds for my Brother and his family in the weeks to come and planting them out with my nieces.

I'm looking forward to having the wall done, once we have new builder quotes, and then finally getting a greenhouse.

Oh yes, and to going back to New York for a week in April.

        let's see ....

        8 more girls
Finish the raised beds I'm making (3 more 8ft by 3,5 ft per leg "L" shaped beds, 1 more 6ft by 4ft bed and 1 about 24 ft long by about 2,5ft)
        Fill up the greenhouse!
Fill up all my new beds

And that's before the spring finishes!
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Buying a house with a garden (and all that comes with actually having a bit of dirt to my name!). We plan to start looking after Easter.

I'm looking forward to getting the conservatory finished next week and planting the tomatoes, chillies, peppers and aubergines in there.
I'm lookig forward to getting all my seeds planted, with plenty of babies to look after and getting on with developing my garden - previoous owners had nothing but grass and gravel. And I'm looking forward to more of this lovely spring weather we've been having.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

The garden of our house was just grass when we moved in with 10 fur trees running down the middle.
Our garden is about 1/4 of an acre and it use to take 3/4 hours to mow the lawn.
We now have a double sized garage which has been transformed into a workshop for the OH for his woodworking.
              The trees have gone.
The veg patch is not that big at the moment but it will treble in size when the greenhouse is finished and we can fence off some more.

                Looking forward to
Trying out a couple of spuds in a bucket in the next few days,
Starting off some carrots and parsnips,
Seeing (I hope) the first seedlings from the indoor French Beans as per Piglet Willie's suggestion,
The little tomato plants from the 27th December planting growing day by day,
Hopefully, days lengthening to a good growing Summer.
My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

Spring being here, finishing my NPQH, son being better, he has been ill for nearly 10 months, starting to fight battles for the new season in my re enacting group and of course starting to grow things for the first time on my lottie.

I'm looking forward to just about everything this year, only got bitten by the grow-your-own bug in a small way about June last year, so this is my first proper year. Particularly looking forward to harvesting my own Garlic, new potatoes and runner beans. And hopefully we will have good summer this year
