  • What is it with me and my bosses

In the Sudan I managed to lock Ze German in his room overnight.
Here, although my boss where I work is great, and we get on really well, I have a country manager who pays frequent visits.

I hadnt ever met him, only heard his name, but its not an unusual name in this part of the world, was sat in my office not long after I arrived and in walks a bloke I've never seen before.
Walks across, puts out his hand, Hi, I'm Najeeb.
Hi, I'm Bob, says I, I'm the security manager here, whats your job?
I'm the country manager.... glazed look on face as he turns and walks out.

Got back to coffee land last night, knowing that same fellow is currently here, but getting the plane back up to Islamabad this morning, so I wasnt going to see him.
Was upstairs in my room practising my golf swing, er I mean sorting out some important paperwork, when I heard my boss calling my name.
Came down the stairs and said "has he gone yet? 18 this afternoon?" (you can see where this is going cant you..)

"No, Bob, I'm here" he replied walking out of my boss' office.

    Doh!!

          Taxi for M. Leponge!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Oh Bob!! Still, If you're in charge of security, it's your job to question an unknown person and find out who they are, I mean crikey, here where I work, if you aren't wearing a security pass you get rugby tackled on entry, and we don't do anything nearly that sensitive.

I've just ticked off our QA manager for letting the BSI auditor into the building wearing yesterday's pass - you can't buck the system.

Mind you, don't know how you're going to get out of the golf thing...you're on your own there. Do you need a shovel for that hole your digging Bob?

                  nice one bob!
Nice to know you security types have got your priorities right - golf first (or should that be coffee) then work...
