  • What a clever kitten!!!!

Well, some of you may be aware that we acquired 2 adorable kittens a while back.
They have both proved to be very affectionate andd have been wonderful companions for my son.
They can be quite a handful and have knocked over their fair share of pots etc..
Yesterday at the ripe old age of 4 and a half months little truc really showed what she is made of by catching her first mouse. She was soooooo proud of herself as were we!
living in an oldish house, mice are a regular problem, I suspect this will no longer be the case

    Yay!! Well done kitty
Our 2 haven't progressed beyond moths, yet, but The Big Lad brought in a rat (dead) the other night Yuck!

Not looking forward to her progressing to rats. At least she ate the little mouse she caught and didn't leave a mess for us to clean up.

        good on the Kitties
wait til the next stage then you get the live offerings too one of my old cats would bring birds and mice into the bedroom whilst they were still alive, they also used to come in to the house through my bedroom window whilst I slept and either try to sleep on my head or on my pillow, sadly now the only thing a cat will do is bring on a sneezing fit

Clever Kitty - I can imagine the local mice all telling 'cat' stories before they go to bed now.

I remember the very 1st mouse my cat Leon brought home, he was soooooo proud. Unfortunately he fooled no one as it was so stiff with rigor mortise, its tail stuck out like a twig. LOL.

This one was still alive! It had obviously sought shelter from the rubbish weather more fool that mouse. Would do better next door as their 2 cats are getting on and are not very good mousers anyway.

A friend fell asleep on the sofa and dreamed that two mice were running over her legs. Two days later the cat brought her a dead one, so she's not so sure it was a dream now!
Well done to your Kitty, Incy. I know we keep them as pets, but it's lovely when they do their job too.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

The Tiger that lives with me ( because he'll have ago at anything) brought me a pigeon once, it was half dead, i don't think he caught it (hit with a car) but seeing him drag it thru the cat flap was a sight for sore eye's...OH dispatched the poor thing much to the disgust of Jinny.

Yes it is nice to see them doing their job. We definitely got lucky with our two.

The Big Lad has decided it's his duty to teach Ziggy & Zebedee how to hunt! 2 days in a row he has brought live mice in, mewing fit to bust, and dumped them in front of the kittens

Even worse, the first one got away down the side of the oven, and OH had to take a panel off and fish it out later (poor thing must have died of shock under there) This morning's I managed to chase out through the back door, with all 3 cats chasing after it, and shut the door on them. I really hope this isn't going to turn into a daily event...

Lol Sarz. at least he's teaching them how to do their job. Little Truc keeps going back under the cupboard where she found her mouse in the hope of finding more!

The reason I got my first two kittens was due to a major mouse problem. I was quite happy to share space with them, but they pooed on the worktops and were nibbling through wooden structures in our 400yr old house, plus keeping us awake all night gnawing and scampering.

The two kittens did solve the mouse problem, but kept us up all night charging around the rooms, clawed the curtains, left shredding paper lying around...

...clearly I didn't think that one through, lol!

Ours seem pretty good at night. They like to guard my son so one sits on his bed and the other on his armchair keeping watch at the door.
Poor little things are confused now he's gone back to school.
Friday they spent the whole day in his room waiting for him and today they keep looking for him. They'll be glad when he gets home!
