  • what a beautiful day!

We've had warm sunshine all day: yes, warm! Thermometer says 5C, but it felt more like 13C in the sunshine.
I didn't even need gloves, so I did an hour's weeding up the lotty, fixed up another waterbutt to my syphon system, and picked some dinner.

All my fallen-down trellis has been stapled back up, the passion flower too, and I noticed new leaves on the honeysuckles, and new buds on the apple tree. There's white fluff on the hedgerow trees (catkins? I was biking too fast to stop and look), and crocuses are poking through.

I've got my blankie and a family bag of Maltesers; OH is at a footy match, so I have the TV to myself: can finally watch gardening & dance programmes*

Sounds like you're having a lovely afternoon TS. It's been absolutely freezing here all day, but the sun is shining. Making turkey broth at the min - it's outside cooling, I hope the cats don't get it!

We've just arrived home from a walk around the lanes, not much snow but that what's left had turned to ice so it was a bit slippery was still a nice walk though.

Lovely day in Stevenage as well. I've had my first big tidy up in the garden. Cleaned chooks and rabbits, burnt loads of rubbish from the house re-decoration, cut down seed heads that been decimated by the birds and swept all the mess the girls have made when I let run free in the garden. It's been really good to move about a bit after a few days slobbing. Going in the bath now for a soak! Out tonight, taking family to Adult Panto. Seemed like a good idea at the time but not too sure now- I'll let you know!!

It was sunny here. So I decided to get dressed about 2pm and do absolutely sweet nothing today. Apart from one wash which is now half dry.

I'm at my sister's in Maryport and it has been lovely and sunny, but soooooo cold! Have been to Workington, and then a walk on the beach.

Looking forward to Derwent Water and Keswick tomorrow

Don't you believe Snadger - he has been playing for the sympathy vote. It started very crisp and cold here - thick frost on the car - but it has been a beautiful, clear, sunny day. Nearly all the streets and pavements - bar the little local ones - are clear now. (Had to chuckle yesterday lunchtime when I saw a young chap reeling back from the pub - he was trying to walk down the middle of our road but had no way of keeping upright on the sheet ice!)
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Freezing fog here. Beautiful sunny morning with thick frost on the roof of the greenhouse. About 2 hours later it thawed and a thick fog descended and its like that ever since.

Thick frost this morning here, but snow and ice all gone thank goodness. We all went up town (bit weird to be out of the house after being cooped up) and got all the cards and wrapping paper etc for next year.

Chilling now and little ones in bed soon.

Really lovely day in Rugby. Sun shining all day, cold but really sunny. Starting to freeze at 3.30pm though, going to be really cold tonight.
Have done little or nothing today other than wash the pile of clothes i found in son and heirs bedroom when i tidied it up yesterday!!!
Hoping to get up the lottie tomorrow so i can draw a plan for my new half plot for this year.
