Well- for goodness sake!!!!!
We've had a heating engineer( nah..not M Gere!
) here today suggesting different types of boilers/heat exchange units- and one of them which was recommended varied between 47 and 52decibells.
Now being an ordinary type of lass- I had no idea how loud that is-I googled it- and came up with this link!

Very useful cos you can point to the picture and it makes that noise level....well, that is if you have your volume set correctly
Needless to say I can turn mine up or down- so what is the 'normal' setting for the speakers on the computer??? ( mine gos up to 10=MAX) ???5????
So how can I compare that to a 'normal' gas boiler etc????
