  • Web Offer Of The Month Ideas?

    Howdy folks!

The savvy of you folks will have noticed there's a new section to our site called...

GYO Web Offer Of The Month

This is a great new section offering exclusive web deals to our internet audience. We'd love to hear your feedback and also any suggestions to offers you all maybe interested in the futures.

    Thanks!

The only comment I'd make is that all the links seem circular.. the links in the tree descriptions all link back to the main banner and not an enlarged picture of the tree, and the banner down the right (the GYO Exclusive - 6 Fruit Trees) links straight back tothe page you're already on..

    But I love the idea

I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out, I just have a shortcut straight to the forum. I see what Shortie means, when you click on the name it just shifts the page a little so you can see the pic. of the particular tree & it doesn't do a larger pic,. or anything so seems a bit of a waste. I like the offer to but there's no way I'm spending £42 plus on fruit trees!
It's a good idea though maybe you could offer some cheaper deals like the ones for seed/plant collections which are in the magazine.

How about some offers on potatoes in the new year? Anyone can get 3lb of something but it would be nice to be able to buy a dozen of each of several varieties. For example, pick your own 5 packs of 10 or 12 from a list of 15 popular varieties.

Any chance? I'd have a set!

I think with bulk offers on fruit trees, as in the July offer, many people will already have some of them and won't want the set. It would be better again to do a pick your own.

I've no idea how big these are but the tight arse that I am would never pay that much for 6 trees, of no set size. I'm sure it is a good deal, but it won't beat taking cuttings from fellow plot holders when the time is right, this is the true ethos of allotmenteers.

This is the kind of thing that would appeal to me too.... or a good deal on plug plants at the right time of year, or on special seed varieties.

              Or even tools?

Thanks for your comments so far!

Moving from the current offers... Which stuff would appeal to you? What specific brands? What sort of quantities? To make the best savings we're really looking for larger value items . Maybe things which large RRP's that you would buy, if it were a little cheaper?

Strimmer, petrol. I can get one with a brushcutter for about £140 but its still too much for just cutting the edges of my plot.
Azadas, best tool ever invented, great gift.
All rainwater collecting equipment, cloches, forcing pots. I'll have a little think

I also like, T&M for seeds but they are a bit steep, compared with say wilko's.

My suggestions but only because this is what I'm looking for: greenhouse shelving, automatic watering systems, seed trays/modules, automatic vents for greenhouse, peat free compost/coir, tiller, veg cages.

I'd like an Eglu Cube for about a tenner!

                        Seriously

Maybe something that's a mixed lot - ie: more varieties in smaller quantities, a kind of taster pack for those of us without vast acres to fill. Could be soft fruit or garlic or potatoes...I know I wasted a number of onion sets this year because I just didn't have enough space for them!
