  • Are we going to have a hot Summer?

It's blowing a gale, torrential rain all day and very, very dark - it's like a day in October.

So, are we going to have a hot Summer or is this it?

We're definitely going to have a hot summer - it's just the year they're having trouble with.

A few of the long range forecasts do seem to be hinting towards a warmer than usual summer and drier than the last couple of years ie back to normal levels of rain instead of stupid amounts of it. Though its not unknown for them all to be wrong !
Having booked 3 weeks hols at home in August I am hoping for the best, ie warm, sunny days with enough showers to avoid watering. Something close to that would suit me fine !

My grandfather related the summer of 76 to me, apparently 'twas a warm one.
One thing for sure, I'm going to have a hot summer this year.

Went to Wales on holiday that year (I was a mere child), and remember the hills were all brown and parched! Had to be a hot year to do that in Wales!

As long as it's hot (well not wet would do it actually) on 12 July as that's when my childen have 30 friends coming for a joint b-day party and a bouncy castle is coming and if it rains I have warned people I WILL be drunk at 11 am when they all get here! lol

I was 4 in '76 & my sister was 8, and we spent the whole summer holidays on the beach at Roker, glorious

As for this year, it's already been a more 'normal' weather pattern so far, we always have a few 'monsoon' days anyway - tis Britain here you know
