  • Waiting 10 seconds

    Is it just me?
It seems like every time I click to go to a new thread or to todays posts I get the wait 10 seconds message, even though I've been reading the page I'm on for a good few minutes, is it just me?
Its really starting to bother me.

Is it double clicking rather than clicking - happens to me if I click twice by mistake.

OK, well computer is seeing you clicking twice, so may be some "bounce" on your mouse, or some other software "intrusion" between your mouse-hand and the Forum's server

When it happens you may be able to use BACK to get to the first of your two pseudo-clicks (but it may just take you back to the page you were on previous to any clicking).

Otherwise you just have to wait for the 10 seconds and then press REFRESH.

I get it here when I think a page is not loading. Trouble is I have waited more than 10 seconds, but the far end is probably starting counting from when the previous page was successfully delivered, rather than when it got my request for it, so I reckon trying to get a refresh for a page that has failed to arrive is going to result in a ten-second-standing-count

I think its a poorly implemented feature of this vBulletin software. I understand that spamming systems may try to get pages much faster than a human could be interested in them, but I'm sure there are better ways that don't impact real humans.

Mine seems to take forever. I frequently wander off to do something else and then forget the wet washing for hours.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
