  • Very Happy News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I relentlessly take the opportunity to mention, we have a gorgeous little 6 month old baby girl, and she is a total joy. However, despite general robust good health, due to random genes, she has been under observation for a nasty hip condition. She did spend some time in a harness thing which was horrid, but manageable, but at her last scan, there was talk of putting her into a body cast if the (non existent, as far as we can tell) hip thing was considered risky once she reached 6 months old.

I've spent two months convinced that the lovely but very cautious consultants would recommend the body cast for our joyful, wriggly little baby, but ecstatically happy happy day yesterday - she's growing her little hips beautifully and doesn't need it!!!

They'll be checking on her until she's five but VERY happy dances and popping of Champagne corks here...
    I don't roll on Shabbos

    Very happy for you !!!!!!
I think consultants always tend to be over cautious.
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Excellent!!You must be so over the moon(can I smell celabratory wine?).My cousins little girl had to have similar but unfortunately the problem wasn't picked up until after she started walking~poor little mite masters the art of getting around upright only to get a hip cast put on for several months.3 years later you'd never know she had a problem,I think she still has check-ups but she's now doing ballet/horseriding(not at same time!)
Really good news!!(&a perfect excuse for me to go pour a glass of wine!!)
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Really glad to hear your news Rhona. I know it can be very stressful waiting for news like this you can now relax and enjoy her even more. I love babies and have a granddaughter who is now 10. She has been with us every other weekend since she was two weeks old and I love her to bits we have just had a camping weekend with her which was fantastic. I wish I had had more babies when I was younger with hindsight but I had difficult births so it was not to be.

                That's great news Rhona.

We had a slight scare with Miss EB at about the same time after she rolled off a bed in the apartment we were staying in in Spain. They can be a real worry but she is so lovely and caring we know that it's all been worth it.
                Bright Blessings

                  Hurrah, hurrah.
I know the feeling - when my scrumptious little girl was 2 she had a few urine infections. Her consultant had her have full scans and tests and other genetic checks to check for lasting damage. Along the way he became increasingly concerned that she may have Turners syndrome (infertility, weak heart and other nasties). After a particularly awful 6 weeks she was pronounced free of just about every testable condition!!!!!!
                  Have a glass for me.

I am so happy for you. As an adult it sometimes feels you are helpless when dealing with medical professionals and it must have felt worse for you as it was your precious child. Her guardian angel was watching over her and you. I hope she continues to progress well. Once again - wonderful news :-]

Great news, so all the ornaments, breakable items around the house will now be migrating upwards or put away untill young female family member gets older.

We did that with some delicate antiques when the boy child was starting to walk, never got them down when extra female unit followed on.

                          They are 24 & 15 (sorry 15.5) respectively.

Now where did I put those things?
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
