Default Vegetable "names"

Does anyone know if there's a "database" of vegetable with peoples names? ie: I've requested some beans called "Stephens" for my father-in-law, and I was wondering if there were vegetables for the rest of the family's names, I was thinking of growing a little something with everyone's name if it's possible. Might grow some Hay for me...

Sorry Wayne you may just have to rename your family members to match the veg that most suits them! Won't mention runner beans then.....!

Must be loads of roses with people's names. I'm pretty sure that there is a rose that goes by the name of Queen MOM

Thanks for the roses link by the way, we've ordered a rose for the MIL, and it should arrive by the end of the week.

You could try finding a comprenhesive seed merchant or two with a 'search' box and just entering names you're after?

I must say I was delighted to find varieties of both calabrese and butternut squash that bear my surname

HW,
I got a french beans called Paloma and a mangetout called Norli .
I am just wondering why don't you breed your own veggies ( by cross breeding) and give them the name you wish and you can even patent the name if wish....

There's a Sweet Pea called Mrs Robert Bolton. This was my name before my divorce (except mine has a "u" in it). My sister-in-law was delighted when she found it. I hadn't the heart to tell her the "R" in Mrs R. Bolton was for Robert not Richard (her husband's name) .

Love the idea Momol, but I think it might be a bit beyond me just yet. I haven't had a great deal of success with just growing stuff yet, but I might bear it in mind for the future. Thanks for the suggestion!
