  • Vandals!

Just so upset - last night or this morning kids got in to the lottie site and trashed what they fancied. My shed window was put in (not the door which was a blessing) turfed over my dalek bin (slow worms put out) nicked my garden clock (found later chucked out) and various crops vandalised. They went over several plots (out of the 49) and turned over every one of the plastic cloches they could find. So angry as it was all so mindless. Everyone on the site is incensed. One good thing tho- they missed the biggest pumpkin I ever saw, never mind grew!!! I can't lift it! If I can photograph it before they get it I'll post it!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Poor you, it must be so heartbreaking when that happens. Thank goodness the little b***ers go back to school this week, they'll have less time to be such horrible little vandals.

O sweet heart, that's terrible, why someone would do that for no reason is beyond me, its the times we live in sorry to say.
I hope you've reported it to the police, i know there's not a lot they can do, but you never know they might get lucky.
A (((((((((((BIG HUG )))))))))))'S on its way to you. xx

Every time I see one of these stories (and sadly far too many of them appear on here) I just feel both angry and sad.
Angry that people do this sort of thing for "fun" and sad for the people who have had stuff destroyed damaged.

Still, at least they didnt get your monster pumpkin as you say, there's always a blessing if you look hard enough.

Lots of love to you, it seems so sad that this has happened to so many grapes this summer. I am a teacher and i am always trying to stick up for children and young people as they very often get a bad press and blamed for stuff.
However there is absolutely no excuse for this sort of wanton vandalism, none at all.
Take care and would love to see a photo of this giant you have grown.

There does seem to be a lot of this around, these days. We can't even say that they've got nothing to do, or the parents should supervise, as when I was a kid we disappeared from dawn til dusk and it never occurred to us to do anything so horrible!

Sorry to hear about this Jeanied

I don't understand why people do this for fun? Makes you wonder what they get out of it.
The loud wind never reached the ship,
Yet now the ship moved on !
Beneath the lightning and the Moon
The dead men gave a groan.

They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose,
                Nor spake, nor moved their eyes ;
It had been strange, even in a dream,
To have seen those dead men rise.

That's terrible JeanieD and sadly we see such incidents reported on here all the time.
How do you know it was kids - did someone see them. It's not always kids, there are some big vandals out ther too.
I feel very sorry for you but clean up and carry on and leave the culprits to their own miserable lives.
And do post a pic of that big pumpkin so that we can all admire it.

Us too - in the village where we lived if you farted the smell would get home before you, so it wasn't worth getting up to anything. My Dad never had to lay a finger on us, but we knew there would be trouble if we did anything like that.

                          Update on vandals!

Just to update everyone - I have to say that all the good wishes from Grapes gladdened my heart and restored my faith in humanity! In the grand scheme of things I was lucky - no real permanent damage. The plot is looking just as good as ever - albeit with a few gaps were things were broken / uprooted/ stamped on. My garden clock is now mounted inside the shed instead of outside. The perspex glass is now replaced with thick wired glass.
And the pumpkin is still there but looking a bit obvious! As I was so proud of it here is a picture as I'm not sure it will be missed if they come back!
