  • Valentine Warner's: What to Eat Now

I find this guy the most unlikely TV presenter. He's quite an awkward character given his height and appearance, pretty goofy, and it makes me cringe watching him eat and the "Mmmmm" noise he makes every time he tries something.
That said, I find this programme completely enthralling. I've not watched a food programme with so many good recipe ideas in a long while. Every time I watch it I just want to run into my garden and uproot some more produce for cooking!

In fact, I'm suprised he's not been mentioned more on the forum. He's surely become something of a God amongst kitchen gardeners.

Anyone else enjoying this? It's available on BBC iPlayer if you missed it.

I totally agree. He reminds me a bit of Hugh Killandcookitall in the early days. Got his first book which has some great recipes in it.

I think he's fantastic - full of enthusiasm and passion, my favourite cook/tv dude at the moment.

Being tall doesn't always mean awkward.

I doubt he's everyone's cup of tea - as I'm sure will be illustrated here.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never even heard of him
It isn't available in IPlayer, so is it worth getting the DVD?

Don't get me wrong on the tall comment, I'm 6'4'', I just felt it added to his awkwardness IMHO.

Just yankin yer chain dude. Short@rse!

I know what you mean though - he does remind me a bit of a teenager who hasn't quite got used to their body.

                    I think he is great!
                    - to me he seems to be the male version of Nigella! - tall, dark, lovely and SO passionate about food!

I've watched both his series and find him very attractive *drool*

OH thinks he's just a goofy character and finds how he eats the food very offputting but his recipes are lovely and simple. Seems to bring out the best in the food rather than putting lots and lots of elaborate ingredients ala Nigella/Delia

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
