End on it could be a plant pot stand.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Stuff it full of twigs/logs/straw/bamboo canes and make it into a nature thingy for wildlife!!!
Bit like that pallet tower thingy!

I've got one of those too Piskie. I mistakely thought last year that I could grow a cucumber over it (never having done cucumbers before). Boy was I wrong, so it will be interesting to see what ideas come up!

I was going to suggest the wildlife option, or as a nicer version of those wire thingies you put over a plant so it grows through and doesn't droop all over the place, for things with too many stems to tie them to stakes/bamboo canes.
Alternatively, you might lay it down so that if there were bottles in they would be upright, put a small plantpot in each bottle-space, and start off things that will grow tall....

Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

You could fix it to the wall of a shed or something, with the 'holes' pointing upwards and use it to sort bamboo canes, lightweight but long gardening tools etc.

That's the best I could come up with, I think Nicos had the bestest idea.

Flower pot dispenser? Reckon you could store a fair stack of 3" pots in each of those holes
