  • Update on the pool....(not that you care)

The large hole is now a large hole with plastic in it... the concrete arrives next Monday....inthe meanwhile I have moved the hens down onto the land as the garden was no longer suitable for them....i let them out to free range when i'm down there which is at least three hours a day at the moment as the weather is fine and there is lots to do..today i put in the frames/tepees for the peas and beans....am going to build them a much bigger run so they are not so cooped up when i'm not there... also going to build an animal tractor so they can clear the rest of the land for me bit by bit..

Great photos - what a fab project. When's the pool warming party then! Grapestock at yours next year?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Well, I care and it looks great.
How I envy you having a swimming pool. Your garden looks fantastic, you seem to have done loads in such a short space of time.
Shame you didn't live a bit closer so that I could just pop up for a swim every now and then

                    It does look rather lovely.
Question: with the sloping banks surrounding it (I'm assuming that's what it is and not an optical illusion), won't you have a lot of debris blowing into it?
I'd imagine you're planning on covering it?

My parents' pool used to have laylandii lining the back of it and it would shed into the pool all winter which meant they had to clean it out at the beginning of every summer. It was a massive job so we all had to muck in.
They've since re-done the pool, covered it and cut the trees down.

I had the same trouble as Ollie's parents when I had my pool. A good pool cover should be essential.
Looking good though, and summer is a coming.

                          thank you all for caring...
the banks of earth will go eventually - some backfilled into the sides of the pool and the rest will get flattened and landscaped ......and we are having a sliding arch shaped cover which will keep it warmer and clean and satisy the french law which says cover or alarm or build a fence round it ...
rain forecast for the weekend but hopefully the concrete will arrive monday ....and it is still on schedule for a birthday opening (June 1 )

Why should we not care? Just 'cause we're jealous as hell doesn't mean we don't care!
It looks really good - if only the weather here were good enough ....

Oh how I'd love a pool.

Looks fantastic - and that's before it's been watered.

Keep em coming - with the collective drool you're gathering here I reckon you could fill that pool easy.

Did I say that out loud?
