  • Update on the GR

Today I had a meeting with the electrical contractor S P Arks whom we appointed to carry out the wiring at the GR.

All works should be completed by mid November but they have made me aware of a few issues which may prove a little difficult to overcome in the short term. Due to the location of the GR the supply voltage is limited so we will need to scale back on some of the electrical fittings. Obviously power to the cellar and pumps is a priority so these will definitely be fully supplied. We shall be engaging BM to come up with a way to manually generate power for some of the less essential requirements.

We have also been told that no mobile or broadband providers service the area so we are currently in negotiations with Harry Spotter to borrow a few owls.

We will keep you posted of any news we recieve

Well, I've got an old wicker bike that could maybe be hooked up to a generator:

I've just been in touch with an Uncle who's in the business & he's gonna send over a generator, we just need to arrange the manpower:

I have relatives with fingers in a lot of pies so a distant cousin will provide the parts & instructions to link the generator:

Why not use some of the women, they seem to like generating work for the men

I have always admired men who take risks with comments about women hope you survive the anticipated onslaught

Some think rary's brave, others that he is foolhardy. I know what I and my pointy stick think
We have a "special" job for rary in the GR, a very important job, outdoors too - cleaning out the composting loos - and he may need a pointy stick of his own - as there are always blockages

Poor old rary - I knew it was a mistake for him to risk incurring the wrath of her with the pointy stick not to mention the ire of the back up brigade who have yet to see his post. All I can say that I hope he keeps himself to himself and does not offer to buy me a pint whilst undertaking his punishment duties - I suppose from his point of view this might be considered a blessing

I think Rary may be needing these in the near future:

I think rary is to be admired. He always lives life on a razors edge. Weather that's deliberate is debatable .

I think it is perfectly OK for Rary to have that attitude.

I needed a good laugh this morning.

We could buy lots of lemon and use them for the electrics and then slice them up for the 100's of G&T's that are downed.....

I think Rary would never dare to be cheeky directly to Mrs Rary, so he gets it all out of his system on here. Very good planning Rary

It's probably GLs fault for asking for black currants instead of electric ones.

BM, Opening night menu is Prune Madras. I think Rary is going to need a bigger gas mask.
