    TV Programme - Foxes Live

    New four part series starting tonight 8pm to 9pm on Channel 4 called - "Foxes Live". Tonight's programme is called "Wild in the City" and is all about urban foxes and I think that they are doing a survey to find out just how many there may be.
    Could be an interesting wildlife watch.
    Forbidden Fruits make many Jams.

    I know this is not going to be popular but I like foxes.

          That was a great programme. I don't mind foxes either but I can understand why some do. There is a den behind my greenhouse but I think they may have moved out this year as the hole is overgrown with weeds and no sign of disturbance.

            I think a lot of people like foxes, but would prefer not to have them too close!
            Missed part of the bit about the lady who got her foot bitten, but the bloke commenting said something about "injuries are rare and shouldn't affect how we treat them".
            He's wrong, they should teach us not to semi-tame a wild animal and invite it into our homes when we can't also teach it our rules! That was a fox she had been encouraging, so it wasn't afraid of being near her, but nor did it know that the foot sticking out from under the covers, looking temptingly like possible food, was part of her and therefore not to be eaten. I don't know the details of the incident mentioned about 'twins', but suspect that once again it was a semi-tame fox, not knowing what the boudaries were.
            Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

                  Yes, I enjoyed the programme too and I do like to see foxes about but then I don't keep chickens any more! I was less pleased to see them when they took the heads off my choocks!
                  And I agree with HilaryB - we shouldn't try to tame a wild animal, it only leads to trouble.
                  The programme is on for 5 minutes for the next two nights (Tues & Wed) I think and you can watch the foxes on their webcam at Home | Foxes Live

                  CS is definitely a smooth talker, unlike our BM who sounds like the typical Northerner calling a spade a spade

                    When I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter (she was born 1988) we had a fox family under the floor of our living room. There was a female and her 5 cubs (we lifted the floor boards to see). A male used to come to the back of the house. OH had omitted to replace an air brick.

                    They stayed for quite a while until I got concerned about them. We called the RSPCA and they said 'We can come and gas them for you if you like'. There was no way I was having that. I was furious and OH gave them a piece of his mind too.

                    Eventually they left of their own accord. Our local wildlife sanctuary at the time thought we were very lucky to have them.

                    Anyway, I don't give to RSPCA .
