  • Trampolines in the garden

Does anyone on here have a garden trampoline? Can you tell me what sort, the price, the pro's and cons, please ! I am going to try and get the smallest one I can, but is 5ft too small to play on?

How old is Mr Sheds daughter? We have one like this that my six year old still finds adequate and it fits in the shed when not in use:

Buy Kid Active Junior Trampoline. at Argos.co.uk

Most of the larger ones come with cages now, so health and safety isn't such an issue anymore. If we *had* to get a bigger one, this is fairly cute, I think:

Buy Trampoline Play House. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Trampolines.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

they might not be easy on the eye,but on those(these)wet days when the kiddies have been building up all their energy inside then they're ideal when the rain lets up 4 a while for the kiddies to let off a bit of steam!i'm sure my friend said B&Q have got 1 that folds up so at least you wouldn't need it up all the time;have also heard of ones you can build into the ground?wouldn't have a clue where you'd get & would prob cost a fortune?

Can't stand them. I can see why lots of parents get them (aside from peer pressure), they're an "easy" way for parents to give their kids exercise without much involvement from them. Personally I'd rather go for a walk with our kids (as and when we have them), or go for a bike ride etc etc.

They feature on You've Been Framed far too often to be deemed safe.

Ideally, I want one that will break after a couple of goes ~ then I can reclaim the garden for plants

design a sunken area for the trampoline that doubles as a fire pit, have it so the top of the trampoline sits flush with the ground when the legs are on the "seat" of the fire pit.
that way you can use the space when its not in use and it wont look so nasty in the garden, I proberbly havnt described it very well, have a look on google images to get ideas.

Or just keep the fire going when they're trampolining?

he's after one with a cage ~ so that he doesn't have to supervise the littlun (5) while he watches sport on Sky.

time for me to be the fuddyduddy!we've got 1 with net but still feel they need to be supervised, but i guess 2 a degree that depends on how placid/mad she is?&maybe i'm just overly paranoid?

Better idea! The garden isn't much bigger than a trampoline would be. I'm looking at 7ft max, 5ft would be better, because you need 6 foot 'falling space' all around it.

My daughter would love a trampolene but our garden is too small plus the fact that she would hang herself on the telephone wire as it comes to the corner of our kitchen roof which is one story high.
If they are not on them all the time then the noise level wouldnt be too bad try and get one that folds away when not in use.

we go 4 lots of walks & visits to park as well as lottie, but when theres dinner to cook, laundry to be done etc etc,not easy to drop all 2 go 4 a walk!also think theres as much danger involved with a wobbly kid on a bike as there is on an enclosed trampoline!

it would be interesting to hear your views when you do have kids, attempting to take kids on walks when they don't want to go is a nightmare, stopping every 200 yds, screaming, strops, i'm tired, how much further etc etc. at least with these things they do get some form of exercise that they want to do and usually don't have to be forced onto them.
