when you are using gloss paint in the garden, and you haven't locked the cat inside, and she comes up silently behind you, and sits on the lid of the paint pot, and you neglected to buy any turps,

neat cillit bang makes a good paint remover, cat won't be impressed at going in the bath, and there will still be a bit of staining on the fur, but it gets out all the stickiness ....... oh and appears to kill fleas too

but thank goodness it was the kitten and not asbo ........ he tries to eat me when i bath him, she just looks all pathetic, but now smells of strawberry shampoo

      hahahahaha, poor kitty!

Hope the cilit bang doesn't make him poorly if he washes himself though, it does have some nasty stuff in it.

      janeyo

our cat fell in someone's bowl of car oil left lying around, one of the old neighbours I think and came home covered from head to toe and stinking. We took him to the vets as we were worried he had swallowed some while trying to clean himself, and they cleaned him up for free, took ages and gave us the bottle of shampoo in case we needed to do him again. Took days for my white cat to be white again. And boy do they look cute when they are all wet! Their tails look like rats tails! lol

i used as little of it as i could, but i tried shampoo and washing up liquid first and it just went sticky, i rinsed her really well, then used shampoo to wash her again, then rinsed off really well with the shower ..... i'm sure it will be better than licking all the gloss paint off, caught her before she licked it.

i really must get some turps, mind you that would probably be as bad too.

but she's lovely and clean now ........ wish i could bath Asbo, he's the dirtiest cat ever, but i kinda like having arms and eyes.

I used cillit bang to get rid of some dirt on some new shoes, and it melted into and pitted the leather - so please make sure you've got it all out.

Honestly, that stuff should come with a COSHH data sheet.

I use it only because I'm too tight to throw it away, it gets used to unblock sinks if they ever need it...

it's very good for cleaning the cooker too, mine used to come with a COSHH warning lol but now it's all clean. it does remove non stick on things though, i soaked a tray in it overnight, and by the morning it had all peeled off.
