Today my daughter Sam was coming back from Canterbury having finished her last exam yesterday. I got a phone call at work to say she had been involved in an accident, sick to the pit of my stomache. Rushed home. Thank God she was uninjured but very badly shaken. She was in the middle lane of the M25 when an articulated lorry in the inside lane came across, caught her car, spun it round leaving her sideways in front of the lorry and being pushed along the motorway. The driver, Rumanian, said he didn't see her. The car is a write off. Had she have spun out further into the fast lane, it doesn't bare thinking about! Just think someone must have been watching over her today. Think these continental HGV drivers should be given more training before being allowed to drive abroad. He clearly didn't use his mirrors. I am so relieved but now also shaken at the thought of what could have been.

How awful for you and your daughter self-raising. I am so glad that she is ok (apart from being extremely shaken up), I think someone must definitely have been watching out for her. I can't begin to imagine how sick you must feel but just keep telling yourself that she is ok. Hugs to both of you. -

She will probably have whip lash injuries just keep and eye on her, I take it she was taken to hospital for a check up if not even though it was yesterday she should be checked out just in case. Hugs to you both.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

What a frightening experience for both of you (and the rest of your family). Really glad your daughter is ok physically. I bet she's not too big for lots of hugs from Mum though.I was feeling part of the scenery

I'm monitoring her regularly at the moment and we are going to the docs tomorrow just in case. The ambulance people checked her out but as you say, whiplash is always a possibility. She didn't want to go to hospital.Originally posted by jackie j View PostAKA AngieComment

What a horrible thing to happen, hope you are both ok. (((hugs to you both)))

She really must have had someone looking out for her!!!
Although nothing as horrific as your daughters,I had a pretty lucky escape when the icecream van I was driving decided to throw off a wheel & soumersault down a hill...I got out uninjured & supposedly giggling...the shock didn't hit til the next day,so make sure she's not left alone for 24 hours!

Thanks guys for all your kind comments. I have taken the day off work today so I can keep an eye on her and we have a doctors appointment later this morning. She says every time she closes her eyes the whole thing keeps replaying itself but I guess that is too be expected and once I had got out of efficiency mode last night the whole thing came back to me, especially what could have happened.AKA AngieComment
