  • Tea tastes awful lately or is it me?

It seems that whatever tea bags I have bought lately the tea tastes awful. Weak an insipid, if you let it 'stew' it goes bitter. When I opened a tea bag [yes I know I'm sad] the tea inside looks like dust [more like sweepings from the floor] didn't it used to be finely chopped leaves.

What brand do you use?...maybe it's time for a change?
I drink either Lakeland tea or Yorkshire tea. Occasionally Twinnings. And they seem fine.

Yep I have been complaing (to myself) for about a year now, I now buy online and my current favourite is Vietnam Black Lion Organic, it isn't a cheap way of doing it but I at least get an enjoyable cuppa.

We drink most good brands of tea (except Twinings) - I like Tetleys for a strong cuppa.
On own brands tea, Sainsbury;s Red Label is good.
I guess the lesson is you pays for what you gets.

I found the same with teabags, I went to loose leaf tea and find that much better

My favourite is Punjana. Not everybody sells it but Morrisons do.

started using Yorkshire tea for hard water (the white cliffs my look dramatic, but the limescale is a B***er*.

May just be the power of suggestion, but I find it tastes really good

I have tried all the brands mentioned except the Black Lion Organic [I'll give that a go] We used to love yorkshire tea for hard water but even that is now not very nice. Could the water supply have changed arond here [Anglia water spent last summer meddling] I know its hard any way but could they have made it worse???

You are not pregnant are you?! I cannot drink tea for the whole nine months, then the first thing I ask for after is a cuppa!

                  Just a thought

We get Ringtons tea off a bloke who brings it round to MILs house. Tis truely nice

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Just had a thought!!!! ( yep- one of those middle-of-the-night thingies!)

Do you have a water filter?
We have one of the jug ones- it really does make the water- and tea - taste different!!!

I only drink tea when we run out of coffee. We have Yorkshire tea in the house as a rule for visitors and the occasional cup for my younger daughter. Had no complaints but we must have had the current box in the cupboard for well over a year now.
