  • Surfs up!

last year the girls and I went surfing for my hen party, we had such a great time we said we would do it again this year and take the boys.

So we are off tomorrow for a long weekend of fun in the surf.

Of course this was all booked and organised before sprout was on the way, so I'll be sitting out the surfing, still very exited though!
I'll be playing with my kites on the beach while they are being tossed about, there are 15 of us going all together and we have the camp site too ourselves.

    Cant wait!

Cool! Would love to give it a go myself, but longboards just ain't cool are they?

You could combine the two and go kite surfing - very "in" these days.

Have a great time and "hang ten".

growing up near newquay, as a teenager I used to surf almost every day, it is like a drug. I don't think people know what it is like until they have actually been surfing.

          Congratulations on catching the bug.

(Next time I visit my mum, I shall be digging out the board from the garage now. I haven't got a hope in hell of getting into my wetsuit now though )

Me and DH both love surfing - it is addictive. We're off to Spain to do a bit in a couple of weeks (have been to Portugal for years and years as I think has some of the best waves in the world!). Totally, totally love it.

I had to sit it out last year as I was nearly 6 months pregnant too, but not this time (ooohh... unless something happens before then...). So I'm planning some serious waves if I can still handle them!

I think longboards are always always cool HW! We're thinking about picking one up for this trip, for those mellower days...

Where are you going this weekend then?

we are going to welsh wales, near gower I think.

We have inflatable kikes but no kite board, I normally just go body dragging but not this time, it will be my more sedate land kites, I will be leaving all the kites over 5 meters at home with the buggy. still exited though.

Ive no chance of fitting into my wetsuit either.

rainy windy and wet. we lost 2 tents and broke a third, after the first night we slept in a barn like brownies, we had to be out early though as they had groups in, so I was just an exhausted stress bunny, the guys had fun surfing though, so wasnt a compleate wash out. we were thinking maybe portugal next year.

Pity about the weather and the tents, on the plus it sounds like you didnt miss out too much so next year you will be able to join in.

Pity I hadn't thought to give you my phone number - we live about an hour drive from the Gower. We could have met up and enjoyed a coffee someplace out of the wind.
