    A so-called super moon is set to light up the sky overnight from Saturday into Sunday morning, bringing a lunar spectacle for amateur and professional astronomers alike.

    Don't know that I'll be awake that early in the morning though.

        Saw one once before, amazing! Not much chance of seeing one here, too much cloud cover.

            I know many dismiss the event as a major concern but i do believe supermoon's can cause geological events here on earth. I pray we don't see another Japan Tsunami within the next 7 days

                  Not good for astronomers, it's just too bright! far better to look at the craters along the edge of a semi illuminated moon. Cheers, Tony.

                    never heard of this before,sounds interesting in more ways than 1 reading the other posts,i'll have a google later,maybe best if i go to sleep,just in case i start howling real bad,

                      I agree, the craters along the terminator are the most spectacular, but most astronomers will have a decent moon filter for the eyepiece to reduce the intense glare. Having said that, I used to have a telescope and didn't have a moon filter...looking at the moon for too long gave me a headache!
                      Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive
