    Son, I have good news for you...

    "Taller people live better lives, according to US researchers."

    ..and some bad

    "There is a threshold of height tolerance - at about 6ft 5in (195.6cm) to 6ft 6in (198.1cm). It is about as tall as people think is normal, beyond that you are odd and life becomes very difficult."

      My next door-but-one neighbour is 6 ft 7. He seems very happy but I realise now that's just because he's odd.

        My 'real' son is 6ft 8" and has always been a happy-go-lucky type. I think it's inherited from me though!

              My Nephew is 6' 7" and as mad as a hatter, he'll do anything for anyone..and he's brilliant at changing light bulb's... He calls me a hobbit..I'm only 5' 4" at the side if him i look a lot smaller

                      dunno Hayley but was wondering this too as DD is 4yrs and 4ft already and if the calcs in the back of the red books are anything to go by, she'll top out at 6ft3in

                        Dunno about being odd but I regularly get little old ladies exclaiming "ooooh, you're tall" and then following it up by "can you reach me that XXXXXX of that high shelf please" so I have my uses although have just realised I've made this sound like there's loads of old dears round here waiting for tall people to reach them specialist mags..........

                        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                          There are Alison! They nab me too but I'm only 5ft 9" - Big enough to help old(er) dears.

                            I'm a biggish lad at 6 foot 3 (I thought ) until I met wifes cousin . Six Foot ELEVEN and as thin as a rake . He gets married soon and while we were out on his stag party it was noticable the number of people who gawped at him when we walked into a new bar / disco. He dosen't mind the gawping but he draws the line when some idiot comes over and asks him to stand up so that his mates can look at the height of him.
                            Has its advantages though - easy to find at the end of a night out / train station / taxi rank etc.
                            There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
