Why did someone try to log on as me today and failed to crack my password? Why would someone want to do that? Wierd?

Petal - did it have the ISP address in the email that told you?

Perhaps it wasn't malicious. I'm Bluemoon on every forum I'm a member of (about 5) except one where someone already had taken it, so I had to think of something else. I always try and log in as Bluemoon there though and it's only when the password doesn't work that I remember that I'm somebody else.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I have to disagree.....Petal would only get the email alerting her once someone has tried [i think it is] 5 times.
Once your password is rejected twice, you tend to think - 'hang on a minute.......'

not being that computor literate how do you know that someone tried to log on as you? does someone tell you or do you get a message?

You get an email saying some has tried to log in to your account and failed.
If anyone else has had one, please let us know. We do occasionally get them.

I suspect it's a genuine mistake although it wouldn't exactly surprise me if it was done with some sort of malicious intent. For spamming purposes there are much easier and efficient ways to fish for e-mail accounts.Comment
