    Snow Days

    What will you be doing tomorrow assuming that you cant get to work or school?

    I will be making a snowman and having a snowball fight with the girls as their schools are both shut; then I will be making a pan of soup with the leftover Christmas veggies. After that I will see if I have any more seeds that I can get away with sowing a bit too early. After lunch, I will be donning my hiking gear and trying to get to the pub for a bit of a drink and chat.

      i work from home so I might have a houseguest tomorrow......but I've never known him have a day off work that wasn't planned so he will try and make it in.

      i'll be having some of today's lottie soup for lunch, and hopefully picking the other car up [for the 4th time, it will not start in the mornings so has to keep going back for diagnosis.

        I'm a bit unconventional so we'll be building a BIG Snow cat or something else a bit mad, I've already made a big pan of corned beef hash and some sage soda bread for when we've done.

          Ooo corned beef hash sounds lovely. Goes to check cupboard...
          I'll be swearing and sliding my car out to do the chooks. We haven't had huge snow, but its packed to sheet ice which IMHO is worse. And my beloved OH will do the same in the oposite direction to feed the nags, cos I'm not feeling great and he wont let me do both. True love eh.
          Zazen re car, try the good old fashioned cure...last thing at night lift bonnet and cover entire engine with old wool blanket... do remember to remove in the morning though, leave some hanging out to remind you lol. Sometimes theres nowt wrong except they plain dont like the cold. Pal who is extremely good mechanic passed that on to a pal whose very nice sportscar was being a so n so with starting and it worked. Put it this way..its cheap enough to try and cant do any harm, unless you try dropping the blanket on when the engines red hot.

            By the looks of things (quick glance out of window) it will be business as usual - WHERE'S MY SNOW.....

            Son's gone to bed complaining that the weatherman is lying (again) whilst I worry that he may be not because I've got to get a flight out of Luton next week!

              LOL! I'll try it if we have any more problems, but it's totally dead - something is draining the battery [brand new last week], new alternator, new fan belt....et cetera....we bought a new car as my lease one was going back today and ever since we looked at the new one the old old one hasn't worked. I think it took offense

                  Due to the wonders of virtual working I've decided to work from home for the second day but thought I'd log in here first to see if anything was happening.

                  Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                  Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                        You may find it quite therapeutic binley, It is a sad job though. My thoughts are with you.

                          Thanks guys.
                          I got there and my first thought was I can't do this but then realised that it's a job that needed to be done so just tried to detach myself. Anyway the upshot of it is that there are a few things for myself and my daughters to keep for memories and there are things for the PDSA shop. ( Mum loved animals) Dad cooked me some lunch and I got some exercise walking there and back in the snow. And WW you're right it was kinda therapeutic.
