  • Snow on cars

I have been getting lots of mails and texts saying that as from tomorrow the police will be stopping and fining anyone who is driving with snow on their car.
    3 points and a £60 fine apparently.
I dont know how true this is so dont shoot the messenger but I thought I would just let everyone know

And then, if you are in my road, you will have a wonderful merry go round view of the world and any snow left will fly off. Watching the idiots speeding up to the junction by our house is the best spectator sport. The looks on their faces when they realise it is sheet ice Luckily there is not much traffic so no accidents yet, just a few peeps with a need for clean underwear

Saw it fly off a car yesterday on the motorway, it did look like the car was throwing snowballs at people.

Technically true Carol, but whether there's anyone around to watch you doing it a different thing.
Which reminds me, I really need a long handled scraper for my windscreen, I can't reach the top in the middle, does anyone have any ideas where I can get one from?

Sorry Taff, they're probably a local chain. You could try your local pound shop.

Think they might be referring to the fact that somepeople don't clean their windscreens other than a peep hole. As long as the windscreen is clear there is nothing in the road traffic Act that states the roof has to be clear too... but what would I know traffic is not my field, ask me one on crime.

Tonight on the news up here in Scotland, Strathclyde police have issued a statement saying that there is no £60 fine or 3 points for having snow on your roof
