Saw a poster today for our NHS Trust....if you give up smoking you can win an IPOD.

I am going to take up smoking then give up..to see if I can win one.

What do you get if you take up / give up smack or some other such nasty? A pc?! A car?!

That annoys me almost as much as the schools that give students MONEY if they turn up for school.

It wasn't so long ago that if you went for a chlamydia test, you had the chance to win an ipod. Strange...

I kind of agree with you,but having also witnessed the results first hand can sort of see the reasoning(in certain circumstances!!)My nephew has Aspergers & when he moved to High school really struggled with the change & my sister couldn't get him to go in...unless she'd tied him up in his PJ's & physically man handled him there...but then the teachers wouldn't be allowed to restrain him to keep him there anyway...far better for his well being he was "bribed" in & after he'd had a term of good attendance he was treated to go watch ITFC play...maybe a booby prize for some. For him it worked & it got him back into the habit of going to school & accepting that that was what is expected of him.
So although it seems an odd idea and I have to agree that giving them money is wrong, also it shouldn't be used for absolutely all kids that just fancy a skive,I can also see that it works for some.
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

I have to have minor surgery in a few weeks, I'll give the NHS an ipod (whatever one of those is) if they make sure I don't catch some nasty bug whilst I'm in there.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
