    Sim only deal providers,

    I have been looking at whats on line,also most importantly reviews on them,already no no to gi***af,i also have a good idea of what i need,need a little help please,as to

    1..on the 500mb,what aprox time would i get per month,say,general maps searches/google/thats all i know at the mo,that will take the power/time,

    2..as with any reviews there are fors and againsts,my top thought at the mo are,tesco and virgin,
    so what sort of reviews is anyone able or willing to give me,from your own personal experience,thanks peeps

    Hi LD. First of all check the network coverage where you live and will be mainly using your phone. If you have wifi at home or where you are mainly going to be surfing then you can connect to that which saves eating any data allowance you have (it is what I am doing right now) but make sure ur phone is compatible. T-Mobile usually have deals on their payg, but if you want a contract check their website. I have an unlimited add on for data so don't get charged any extra on the monthly rental. Orange are now the same company but play them off against each other! Don't be afraid of asking for a better deal than they offer.I used to have loads of stuff on what 500mb for eg would get you but if you goggle it there are some great sites that will give you an idea. I worked for a mobile provider for 13 yr so know what they are talking about. If they give you any info you want to double check feel free to ask me I will help if I can.
    When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
    If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

      The customer services is a different kettle of fish. I was in the business side and hate comsumer cs with the company I worked for. Shan't name publicly but pm me if you want the dirty on them.

        Thats the main problem,customer service upon reading reviews,i have been looking on line,as for wifi????,all i know is that on my phone,i can press a bit to say yes to it,have no idea about what it is or used for,just googled it,so if i click it on,does it use up any MB,and how will it be helpful to me,my son has done a lot on it for me,plus i have managed some things myself as to the general use of it,it's a Sa....Ga...ace,but i have absolutely no understanding of anything else,this is a big deal to my old brain at the mo,1 thing i now got is...have read about 3g,and see it on the phone,that has only just clicked lol,

          Hee hee, no worries LD

          Your phone can be used with wifi. If you have a data allowance, say 500Mb but use wifi to surf then it doesn't come out of your allowance. The reason for that is you are not using the mobile network at that time.

          Who is your internet with at home? If you have a "hub" as in you don't have to plug your pc/laptop into socket on the wall then you may have wifi. All it really means in basic terms is that you can surf the internet on a pc/laptop/phone without having to use wires.Hope that makes sense

          When it comes to customer services we are all given a "value" depending on how much you spend with them over and above your line rental. That value reflects what deals they can/will offer.

            My plan comes with 500mb of data and I've just upgraded to 1gb but we don't have wi-fi at home and I'm on the internet on my phone an awful lot!

            I've seen a sim deal from Tesco which is on a rolling 1 month contract. For £10 it has 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 500mb of data which seems pretty good to me!

            I haven't used Tesco personally but my sister has a contract with them and they've been fine.

            Also there's an app you can put on the Sa......... Ga...... A... which monitors your data usage which is handy as there isn't a function to check how much you've used on that phone.

                I have heard tesco are ok too.

                The customer services side of where I worked had a target of 10 calls per hour to take! Might not sound much but it's mind numbing when doing it for 7hrs a day One of the reasons I don't like calling them...

                  I changed from Orange to Tesco in January. 2 year contract free Galaxy 500 minutes 5000 texts and 500 meg of data. £12-50p a month. No other company could get anywhere near it for value and so far their service has been good to.

                    thanks all for your input,sounds like tesco is top runner thus far,i need yet more looking,oh i hate decisions in fields that am not familiar with,before any other comments arise,i do not mean a grassy field

                      If you get a signal on o2 then Tesco will be fine in your area as it's their network they use.

                        Also, if you are looking at sim only, the phone needs to work with the sim (most are "tied" to a particular network).

                        Easiest way to check is to borrow a phone using a different network and then try the sim from the other phone in yours.

                        If it works when you switch on, your phone will be ok. If not, it will need to be unlocked. Your current mobile supplier will be able to help with that, as there is a code you need to buy from them (between £10 and £15 normally) that lets you use the other network sim

                          Thanks OITC,the phone came already unlocked,son asked a lot of questions,and got answers,my other sim card asda,was put into the new one,son transfered my phone book over,amazing stuff,i still have a little credit left on the old 1,the only main thing to find out now is,how to get the pics onto the putor,aparently my putor and modem,have not got a slot in them,what ever,is unknown to me,am learning ,bit at a time,sons friend will sort me out,when he has the time,

                            Don't take this as gospel I am not that good with putors, but I think the slot you are refering to is a memory card reader. If your putor doesn't have one easiest solution is to by a card reader that plugs into a usb port.

                              can i ask why you have written off giff gaff ??
                              i switched to them 2 years ago and not looked back
                              £12 a month 250minutes talk, unlimited text and unlimited data ( i use about 6-7 gb data a month as listen to radio on my phone through 3g)
                              runs on O2 network so pretty much signal everywhere
