I was going to ask our Community Bobby if I could hand myself in

BBC Tomato plants mistaken for drug

I have about 30+ (even after the effects of Blight) tomato plants growing out in the garden

at least i'm not in America

Cops bust yet another tomato grower

this would probably make me think twice about growing tomatoes
as I have an allergic reaction to Guns pointed at me

and to our our members North of the Border being Scottish or being a grandmother will not make a difference

Drugs police raid grandmother's home... after mistaking TOMATO plants for cannabis

I don't take cannabis for my pain like some people do, Knowing this there is no way I will

If a plum tomato breaks the law when it’s young
Would it’s criminal past ketchup with it later?

You would think they would send in police who are trained to identify cannabis plants if they really feel a raid is necessary!

I've heard many-a-story of people being raided because they're buying large amounts of compost, using a lot of electricity and their house glows on the police helicopters thermal imaging camera. All of these are tell-tale signs of indoor cannabis OR tomato growing!

Sadly though, tomatoes don't sell for quite as much per ounce

I think I'm safe for this year from the Highland Constabulary. The last of my tomato plants fell off my windowsill a couple of weeks ago. I may be in bother next year

Maybe I could sell my blighted plants to a few dodgy Bobbies

A few years ago, after a break-in at work, I was talking to a CID inspector in the reception at work.

He took a very close interest in a large pot plant in the corner and then announced it was cannabis !!!

I thanked him and said I'd get rid of it.... as I'd had such a stressful day smoking a whole cannabis plant just might calm me down.

Later I did a Google search and found that the plant is commonly sold in garden centres and has leaves just the same as cannabis (same family) although the "effect" is much less !!

Mine looks like a war zone as well BW ... or didn't you mean that I have got a nice crop of Poppies in the front garden though

I do however, have a nice collection of Lophophora cacti that was used as a source of Mescaline by the indians ... I prefer the flowers

It's a standing joke in our family. The police helicopter does at least one low-level hover over my greenhouse every summer. We were chatting to our community bobby once and mentioned it; 'Ah yes the lady with the "tomatoes".' he said with a laugh, he even did the inverted commas with his fingers. At least the local force seem able to distinguish between the two, up to now they've always flown off with no further problem.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

You cannot blame them for coming up with a way to supplement their income so they can afford their council tax now then can you!

Now you've got me worried I've bought loads of compost this year for my raised beds and because I do a lot of my work at home my electricity bill is quite high. Plus last year when I got my plastic growhouse one of my neighbours did poke his head over the fence and asked me if I was growing Cannabis. This year I have a greenhouse full of tomato plants.
