  • selling clothes on ebay?

Not garden related sorry, but I need to pick brains!

I have a long black leather coat which I LOVE. Unfortunately it's now 3 sizes too big and looks ridiculous on me. I am loathe to give it to charity as it's in really good nick.

Is it worth trying to sell such items on ebay? or in Free Ads? I have never tried selling clothes before. Need to make space in the wardrobe really and it has to go

A long coat might cost a lot to post as it might be heavy.
I would check other leather coats on Ebay first to see if they are selling.

There are several on there (used) some have bids some don't.
The branded ones have bids, but don't know where mine came from other than originally a milanese cow lol

Do you have a local newspaper? I think that the smallads are free to place - and then it would be collected by the buyer who would live pretty local to you.

          I will try that.

Would it be rude to offer it to a 'larger' friend?
I wouldn't be offended if someone offered me something (in fact all my maternity things that are in the loft have pretty much done the rounds of several women lol), but not everyone is like me.

If you really love it why dont you just get it altered to your current size?????

I have recently tried to sell some clothes on ebay but things don't seem to be selling so well at the moment??? maybe its just me. I think it is worth putting it on but you may not get what you think it is worth. definately weigh it to get a good idea of how much it will cost to post. I'd give it a go if I were you. and as for offering it to bigger friends...I wouldn't mind at all, my SIL gave me quite a few things she bought which were too big for her.

Personally, I've had some fabulous bargains on eBay, clothes wise; Brand new, never worn Next Jeans for £3 plus postage, another fab pair of brand new M&S cord jeans for 99p plus postage. I've always found clothing goes dirt cheap, so I don't bother any more - or maybe it's just that I sell tat lol!
