  • Scuse me while I kiss this guy (misheard lyrics)

I really thought we'd had a thread on this before but I can't find it! Still, it might be fun to do it again even if it's revisiting

My 4 year old came out with a good one today. He was singing a song about 'Bethlehem', so I asked him to elaborate... he rather vaguely said it was 'summat to do with a little baby' When asked the baby's name, he replied, with great confidence 'Giles'

    Anyone else got any?
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

    Mishead lyrics:
"We built this city, we built this city on sausage rolls!"
"Don't break my heart, my eggy-bready heart"

    Classic childism:
My nephew said to my mum one day, "Granny, where's you're mum?", to which she replied, "Well, my mum's dead Taylor". He thought for a moment and then asked, "Did she go crispy?"
We decided it must have been because his only concept of death was that when leaves die and fall off a tree they go crispy. Perfect logic!

I must have mentioned it before but a friend's little boy said he'd learnt a new carol for Christmas. It was called 'In the Blinking Winter!'

Doesn't matter if they've been done before. They're always titter inducing.

                        What about:

All old and overgrown with fleas...Eurythmics
All I ever wanted, all I ever needed, was here, in my ar5e...New Order

There are so many more, but I can't think and I need a wee.

My fave will always be Jobby Maydos.
The Young Ones were new on the telly and my son wasnt very old. Friends round one night and we were discussing said programme. On saying the names of the characters my son, who couldnt sleep, said "and Jobby Maydos". Cue blank looks from adults. No son, you've got that wrong, read out the list of names. By now, son is hopping mad, cos he knows he's right and starts singing the theme tune.
"For we may not, be the young ones, very long" had been heard as
Jobby Maydos, he's a young one, very long"

Youngest daughter came out with a belter too, I had to pull over I was laughing so hard.
Sir Cliff and his christmas nause
"With logs on the fire, and pigs in the tree"
                          Bob Leponge
Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.

Can't think of any missed lyrics, but I've just played I-Spy on the tube with my 4 year old nephew.
"I spy", he says, "beginning with Ap".
"Apple" I say (he doesn't know his letters yet).
                            "Grar" he says "it's green"
                            Grass, that one.

then, top of his voice: "Cun"
Everyone in the carriage is now looking at us, I say "dunno, what is it?"
Cun-pooter ! (in his best Norfolk accent)
All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

One of church hymns has the words "guide of the wanderer here below"
Came out as "guide of the wanderer here we blow"

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
