  • Sadistic Pleasure...Bug Squishing!

I've just spent the last half hour squishing greenfly, whitefly and tiny green caterpillar on my strawberry's, red currant's, dwarf pear & apple tree.

Question:- Is it just me or does everyone else get sadistic pleasure from squishing bug's??

Have you ever tried the late night Snail and Slug clog dance? Satisfaction guaranteed especially if you have a few friends, some wine and do it together.

Not as far as I know but I have a couple of Ginger Ninjas myself (I'm trying to train them to attack slugs and snails but to no avail) and my mother was born in Yorkshire so stranger things have happened.

However I think it's just the joyous sound of crunching that all gardeners love.

No. I hate squishing bugs - they're just trying to get along like the rest of us...

I find them too icky to squish. But I do get a lot of pleasure seeing slugs and snails heading for the beer traps. After all, if THEY want to go and get drunk and fall in and drown, it's not MY fault
                  Caro

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day

Does the salt come in a little blue packet?

I couldn't do the dancing or squishing but I'm going to get my very own Death Bucket. I LOVE the sound of that. You're a genius

I don't object to puting down or spraying something lethal but must admit I hate squishing, chopping or stamping. Most often I pick them up and throw them over the fence that's probably where they came from anyway.

I use to do that until my neighbour and me tried an experiment, we put tip-ex on to two snails one from her garden and one from mine...then we swapped snails, the following night the snails had found there way back into the garden they came from...need less to say they can't find there way out of the salt bucket

For the first time, I'm glad you don't live next door to me Bren!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
