A recap from my notes and a thank you to you guys cos I nearly gave up lottie a couple weeks back!

Lottie:
- jerusalem artichokes
- peas
- runner beans
- spuds, 2nd early and main crop
- sprouts
- parsnips
- courgettes
- pumkins
- rhubarb
- blackcurrants
- blackberries
- horse radish
- garlic

Garden plot:
- tons of salad leaves
- early spuds
- strawberries
- beetroot
- kohl rabi
- broad beans
- garlic
- chillies
- radish
- gooseberries

I'm quite pleased with that lot when I remind myself that I took over this quarter garden last September and there was nothing here at all and I took over the lottie in January

Oh and I've picked my second bunch of sweet peas

well done girl,it is to easy to give in and shout defeat,blooming cleaver to keep at it,and achieve,you come accross as a go getter,like red rag to a bull,a bit like me.

Well done that Piskie! Knew you had it in you. Sometimes it's good to take stock - you can overlook how much you've actually achieved. Just tied up my sweet peas to the canes today - they're about 10" high. 'Twill be a while before I get my first bunch I think.

the good thing about the rain this last two days is that I won't be faced with concrete to dig over tomorrow ..... yaaaaay.... every cloud and all that

Piskie - we covered up half our lottie with weed suppressant; and it's pretty much concrete where we haven't had any cover; but where we have - when we lift it and dig it is quite soft underneath. It's only been on certain sections a few weeks - is it worth covering bits up prior to digging to try and keep the ground from drying out?

That's without any water on site; the only water we have at the mo comes from home in squash bottles and goes on newly planted stuff only.

Good to hear you haven't given up; you know you love it.

and in addition to all the list above - when I was on lottie yesterday, pulling weeds as ya do - I noticed several poppies and some baby euphorbia .... poppies I can understand but euphoriba

I keep finding red and green lettuce seedlings on my lottie. I put some of my own compost on the beds and I do remember adding a seeding lettuce to the heap last back end! Anyway, I keep potting them up and moving them on. Nice!

Never knew you'd come close to packin' it all in - well the plot at least, bet you're glad you dint now eh?

I scattered a load of "meadow" seeds weeks ago on a little bed outside the plot boundary and I haven't seen a thing yet - plenty of weeds but.
