  • Pulling finger out - nicely???

Now that college is finished, I am compiling some stuff for one of my many sidelines....when I decided to compile the stuff, we didn't really have a deadline - and now I'm really looking to get this stuff done, dusted and edited by tomorrow night

I don't want to contact everyone and say 'could you get the stuff over to me - pronto' in case it looks like I am being a right old nag - but as I hadn't given a deadline, I don't want them to miss out. After all, they might just not want to contribute. I've had some quite good stuff in already, but I'm sure there is more to come....

If it was a work thing, I'd just tell them to pull said finger out! But I'm trying to be diplomatic!!!!

Any ideas on phrasing a reminder for first thing tomorrow....I never was any good at politeness???

I'm not diplomatic either but can you say something like - sorry to contact you again but I wasn't sure if I'd missed your stuff and I didn't want to leave it out as it has to be in by the morning - or words to that effect!!

I'm up early, but am going back to bed to think of something around that Lottieval; I'll also check my SPAM to make sure nothing is in there.

IT - wasn't it supposed to make our lives easier?

A gentle reminder that they were going to contribute something and the deadline is ...... please let me know if you intend to contribute or not.

If they haven't been polite enough to get back to you then I think a 'polite' - 'My deadline is tomorrow night after that I will assume you're not interested' seems fine to me.

Just be tactful and say " Get the stuff back to me.......... NOW!!!!!!!"

That should just about do it!

How about "sorry the notice is so short, but the deadline has now been settled ... it's tommorrow!"
Of course it is now 'today'.......

I'd just be honest and say that you're having a bit of a panic as the response is lower than hoped and could they help you out by contributing what they had originally offered- or ...the deadline is ....whenever...and you just wanted to remind them in case they'd forgotten as it would be a pity if they wanted to contribute and missed the deadline!

I'm such a forgetful person at times- and other times paranoidly focused...I'm always happy for a nudge as I'd feel disappointed in myself if I didn't do what I'd 'promised'

                  Good luck!!!!

The response hasn't been low - it's just I know that there was no deadline, the weekend was very busy and peeps that usually like to contribute haven't yet.......

I'd just contact them and say, sorry I know there wasn't a deadline given originally but I now need to get this completed by x time so if you would still like the chance to contribute, I really need it by y time.
That way you acknowledge that it's not them being late but rather a deadline having sprung up at short notice which wasn't there before.
