  • Price of scrap...........

Rang the local breakers today to ask how much they would give me for my old knackered S reg Mondeo Ghia X, if I drove it in? 125 quid was the reply............you could have knocked me over with a feather. Only payed £500 quid for it 5 years ago, never spent a thing on it so not a bad return I reckon! Only expected about 60 squid for it and was going to list it spares or repair on Ebay.
For £125 though it takes its last short journey down the road on Saturday!

Price of scrap must be high at the mo?

    some folk are really desperate
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand

The two end panels? Surely an open and shut case!

Scrap is indeed at very high prices. PW and I took some bits and bobs we'd had lying around down to our nearest scrapyard and dined out very well on it!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I've been moaning at Andi for hanging on to my old ironing board for so long...starting to think maybe he's right?

I used to save old nails I dug up for a chap at the lottie last year(so long as they weren't corroded)...according to him, although the few I gave him amounted to nowt much, combined with others were worth a small fortune.
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

We've got a mini that's not moved for 14years I think you'd need a shovel to pick up all the pieces if you wanted to move it now.

we were only offered 40 quid scrap for my car.

We do have some *ahem* traveling gentlemen who come and do odd jobs for us, they clear rubbish, cut conifers, lay gravel, anything for a day's work and have been scrupulously honest in about 8 dealings with us.... their eyes lit up when they saw we were getting shot of all the old copper from the bathrooms when we did the extension. We let them take it - they paid us and then I had 3 other people come knocking asking where the metal had gone as they wnated it too!
