Are you wanting it for a greenhouse heater?

If so, I modified mine to use red diesel. Simple and cheaper

Sounds good............instructions please! I have access to red diesel!

Once I start heating a portion of my greenhouse (need to put a new roof on it first after a recent collapse!) I get my paraffin from the allotment shop at about £3.00 a gallon I think it is?

PS I tried a mixture of paraffin and red diesel but it was too smokey and went out very easily!

I just fill mine up with diesel with the slightest drop of petrol.

Urmm...just want to say please be careful when messing around with these different fuels

You've sort of lost me...but please make sure what you are suggesting is very safe and 'above board'

It's fine. All of mine are burning away nicely at the moment.

It is literally the slightest whiff of petrol just to get a good flame on it and lower the soot. In 5l of diesel, just a few caps of petrol and shake hard.

It might work differently in yours but keep an eye on it for a day. If it works over the day then it is safe

Everything comes to he who waits. I was told that B&Q had paraffin at £6.99which IMHO is still a rip off so I left it.

Saw paraffin in ASDA last Wednesday at a fiver for 4 ltrs which I was prepared to pay but didn't have my wallet with me. Went back in on Friday evening and it was reduced to clear at £2.50.

Needless to say I obliged and cleared the last five containers.

                Result or what!!
