Default praise indeed

had to share this

while at my allotment today was chatting to a gold standard fellow allotment holder. this elderly gentleman has 3 plots and supplies a local pub with veg.
"ah well we can all only try our best " said i
" i think you keep your plot looking lovely and tidy" was the reply

i nearly fainted, but thanked him and then viewed my jungle in a new light

it made my day

Wow - praise indeed.

nice to have someone with that attitude; with us it's
'you'll need more water than that' as we turn up with a few squash bottles to water in newly planted out veg.
Or 'the twitch is coming through again - it never stops does it' [no it doesn't - especially when you never actually dig your plot matey];
or 'if you get any potatoes out of that lot' [er, we have got 3 out already with a simple furtle and they've only been in 8 weeks you muppet]
or 'well, if you've nothing better to do than to weed your plot' [what rather than wade through it like yours which is waist deep in weeds?]
or 'I wondered what the cardboard was for' [er - adding organic material, keeping the weeds down - its not rocket science old man]..

I keep my tongue well sealed as the guy lives next to the plot and I don't want any mishaps but flippin heck - can't they let it go???

Yes; it's got weeds
Yes, we weed it
Yes, we have planted veg in it
Get over it!!!

*rant over*
