  • Pod's foot released from Pea's cot by 4 firemen!

Yes you have just read that right! Was far too embarased to post about this little escapade on Bookface but feel safe posting about it here, even though I know I am gonna get some ribbing off you lot!

Was awoken at 6am by the two girls screaming. Nothing new there except when I arrived in their room, poor Pod had her foot trapped in between the end bar of Peas cot, where there is a runner which enables the cot side to be put down/up. This of course made the gap narrower so once her foot was through the wider gap further up, and she put her foot was down it got wedged. What had been making it worse that Pea knew her sisters foot was trapped and was trying to push it back though which was hurting Pod and making her scream. Pea was of course terrified and screaming too!

I couldnt shift her foot at all. The other two were asleep and the three neighbours I can call upon in our little culdesac were; 1. not up, 2. not awake and cut me off with no more than an "ugg" and 3. phone wouldnt connect. So there was nought for it - advice from 999. As soon as I explained they said they would be straight out and 5 mins later 4 bemused firemen trooped into the room. Pod was by now quite calm and they made the first attempt to free it. When that didnt work they fetched a pump thingy which would prise the vars apart enough to free her. Just as they had set the pump up they had one final try, thinking the pump would scare her and hey presto she was free!

I was so relieved and then the embarasment set in. This was only made worse when we heard more sirens (dont get them often in the village) and they commented that control must have sent an ambulance too. It was a good minute before I realised it was my new phones 6:30am alarm call. Cringe - they looked at me like it was an offence to imitate police sirens! They were quite nice about it really and even cleaned up a mark some of their equipment made on the carpet. Today will be one of those I wont forget in a hurry!

Well, when I first read the title Tammy, I thought, how clever of you telling Pod to get her foot stuck just to get some firemen to come to your house Sorry but I can say that now that there was a good outcome

Seriously, though, I'm glad that everything is all right and the girls are both OK, must have been quite frightening for you all.

          Blimey Tammy, what a morning!

Cant imagine what must have been going through your mind having little pod stuck like that, but thankfully all was well in the end.

No RL, she's plotting how to get them firemen back....

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
