  • Pea & Pod 22 weeks today! and scan news at last!

    Hey all

The facebookers amoung you will know I had a good scan last Tuesday but also that I havent been well so havent had a chance to get on to tell you all about it.

I rang the scan unit the day before as I was actualy starting to dread the scan! This was only because of the scanographer dreadful bedside manner - the midwife had identified her as the one called Joy - well I am sorry but she got given the wrong name! I tactfully asked if they knew who would be doing it and they said they couldnt tell and asked why. I explained that I felt uncomfortable with the previous lady and she assured me she would make a note to ensure I was with someone else. Even so I was determined to be a good girl and drink sufficient fluids (to avoid being told off) as the image wont be clear if bladder isnt fit to bursting (which I hate) so I downed 2 litres of water before we set off.

When we arrived I mentioned I hoped we would be called soon as I was in need of a visit to the ladies already and she reminded me that they only need a full bladder for the 12 week scan! Ohh pooh! So off I waddled to the ladies and had to go twice more before we were called! I am sure you can imagine how desperate I was to go after as well - of course with twins its an hour long scan not just 1/2 hour! LOL!!! What a wally!!!!

Anyhow Pea and Pod were NOT on their best behaviour as they just wouldnt stay still! For 90% of the time they were back to back - head to head and having a right ding dong. One would push its legs to "bum" the other one and then the other one would retaliate and do the same back! It was soooo funny watching them! My bump is ever so high this time and I could tell it wasnt just my imagination because normally I have only been scaned below the belly button but she had to go right over it (and I HATE my belly button being touched so it was dead uncomfortable) and also just above too!!! I even had to roll on my side for part of it so she could look down past one to try and check the other!

The scanographer couldnt get a picture of the two together which I was so disappointed about and also we cant really tell now who is who. Once they settle into position I should be able to "rename" them which I would like to know who is kicking me and also who arrives first etc! Anyhow here is a picture of each and you can see that one of them shows the spine very clearly and the legs bent into position to shove the other one! I hope they get on ok once they are born!

Anyhow think thats all my news, lots of love

          Bless!

LadyWayne used to hate having to be fit to burst for the scans - especially when they start prodding about but like you say, it doesn't last forever. He he he.

Pea & Pod look fantastic. Wonder if they're having a chat yet?
