  • Overdone it at the Lottie

I have overdone it a bit at the lottie just shows how out of condition I am after the summer. Yesterday I arrived at the lottie at about 11am. I dug up the cabbages that were left and weeded that bit, I also took down the runner beans and tried to light a bonfire ( can do this after 4pm ) it took several attempts, but I didnt think I had overdone it as I take lots of breaks. I went to go home about 7pm and found someone had shut the gate, they hadnt locked it but its a very big long gate and try as I might I couldnt lift it and I ended up calling the site manager and he came out to rescue me.
I went there again this morning and dug over another bit that needed weeding and boy do I ache now. I have had a bath and I feel really tired. Probably because OH kept me awake last night as he didnt put his mask on and was snoring. Got a hospital appointment with the physio about my shoulder tomorrow so wont be going to lottie.

Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. At least you know the effort will be worth it in the long run.

I often have a problem moving the big gate on my site. Luckily there is a smaller gate nearby and if the big one is shut when I arrive I park outside and walk in through the small gate. It's a pain though when the car is inside and I have to heave the gate open.

Just take it easy and do a bit at a time and you will beat those muscles and joints back into condition
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

The gate is normally open as its not just us that use it but after 6pm the last one out shuts and locks the gate. there is nowhere to park outside so you have to drive in, but if you are on foot you can get out.

Hi jackiej I feel for you, last march, first real dig of the season and I got tennis elbow...
thought I was cracking up at first as I had little or no control when it came to picking things up and pain as if I had smashed my elbow with a hammer but most oddly when out walking and my arm was at my side, it was like lead trying to lift it...a really strange feeling.
Thing is - it is still a long way from right even now! I can lift a milk bottle now but never trust my left arm!
jackiej, please rest! and recover soon

Mind yourself Jackie, that's a lot of work in a day. Hope you had a nice relaxing soak last night to rest those muscles.
