  • Our plot rules !

    No Occupier shall work on his Allotment on a Sunday; and whoever idles thereon during the hours of Divine Service will be considered in the light of actually working there.


    No person is to work on the Allotment Field between the hours of 6 in the morning and 6 in the evening, during the months of March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October; and 7 in the morning and 4 in the evening, during the months of November, December, January and February, unless our of employment, or by permission of his master.


    The above is just a clip of our plots rules..... 1843

      Lol - When I saw the title of your thread Headfry, I thought you meant it as in Our plot rules (OK)

      How interesting though, I used to be the secretary to our local village meeting and the minutes book went back years and years. It made fascinating reading.

        When I was at school someone uncovered the old rules for the school. It included things like "The head of school may wear a sword to exams"

        That would make it much easier to get a crib of Bloggs Minor's answers, eh?

          Me too, lol! Didn't occur to me that there could be RULES!

          Has anyone read the old bye-laws in the Covent Garden market? They're an absolute blast!
