  • not got much to say but wanted to, *wave*, say I am still here (sort of)

I have just about recovered from Olivers 40th Birthday, apart from being absolutely bl**dy knackered!!! Got loads of compliments on the food which I cooked all from scratch (even the breaded chicken peices) and was well proud of. Sainsbury's cake machine wasnt working so I had to improvise making the plain white iced cake look nice. I stuck , with icing, a clear peice of acetate on over the top of the cake (with a hole in each corner for the candles to go in) and then decorated it with an old upturned CD (with his name and age on) then stuck some musical note stickers around that for the finishing flourish.

Not got much else really to say, cept I am loitering and when I think of something worth saying, I shall pipe up!

'Eh up duck. I thought everyone had been busy holidaying, fighting the blight, and harvesting. I didn't know you had been partying!!!

I can't party any more; I get bored. I went to a hen night and came home early. Gosh, I so don't miss the dressing up, and smiling with people you don't know, and we were outside so the smell of smoke made me feel quite ill. The only person I knew apart from the bride to be, was gay - and she had her girlfriend in tow - and I just kept thinking 'if she looks like a man, why not go out with...a man???'

I should apologise to her when I next see her I suppose. But how can you say 'I always thought your bird would be a fox, but she looks like a bloke'? You can't really do it can you?

God I'm glad I'm 40. No excuses necessary anymore.

I went to a hen night the other week, which was bliss. A group of like-minded mature ladies (and me), ordering take-away and just sitting around chatting in a house! No smoke, no L-plates and definitely no dressing up!! I only had two drinks over the whole night. No she-males, either, lol!

FD, that sounds like a fabulous cake (and I admire you for cooking all that from scratch!). Look forward to the pic!
