lol, yes MSN..... hit the wrong button... twice!!! Thanks for that. Just getting fed up with kids saying hi all the time and the bloody bing bong noise when messages come through...... don't much appreciate the come ons neither, although they are not for me, as i said she is 13, mind u they do get a piece of my mind!!! then to have another 13 year old say " ur ganna get nocked out " their spellings by the way, not mine, aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh. Would love to have seen their face when i told them that i would pass the message on next time i speak to her, and that it was in fact her stepmother she was talking too!!!

Depends on the version but double click the IM icon in the taskbar (by the clock on the right hand side) when open click on Tools > Options > you may see a Sign In command on the left hand side > click on Sign In and on the right hand side you should see various checkboxes, uncheck allow Automatic Sign in and Automatically run......, this will stop it from running the next time you log into the laptop. Is it Windows Messenger or Windows Live Messenger. alternately go into Control Panel > Add Remove programs and remove it (completely) from there.

MSN is a pain in the ass to remove. I have found that the best thing to do is to get a bamboo cane out of the garden a bash the kids with it till your arm hurts. It dosent remve the program but it keeps them away from the PC in future.

well i've tried removing...... its still there, just had to use the f word to a 30 year old man, trying to get my stepdaughter to take clothes off......... so angry now. Just wait till i speak to her next as it seems u have to add these people to contacts?????? which means she has been in conversation with some of these people!

Just so you are fully armed with all the information you need for that chat, you do have to agree to somebody being added to your contact list and even if you add somebody by accident you can block or remove that person fairly easily (very easily for the vast majority of todays more tech savvy youngsters) so dont let her pull the wool over your eyes with excuses that she had no control of this particular contact being on her list.

Msn Messenger used to automatically record all conversations by default (simple to turn off and most kids do) but the latest versions do not record by default, no matter how many times you turn it on they will just turn it off again.

This is Mr Sheds old laptop.
I used to get Bing Bongs too, from "sexy lady" and "foxy chick" etc etc.
