  • My plot is bigger in my head....

Just been outside to plant some things in their final places and it appears that my plot is considerably bigger in my head and on pieces of paper than they are in real life.

May be some serious last minute digging in the garden this weekend to try and juggle space for 3 pumpkins and 3 crown prince squashes!!!

    Anyone else have space issues?

    Always.

I tend to stick things in when a space appears (squash usually go in after the early spuds have been lifted)

When I grew only in containers I knew how much pot space I'd got but now i've got beds its easy to run out of space. I know I've still got pots for back up but they take a lot of looking after with watering so i'd rather not use them unless I've got to.

Going by the amount of seeds I have sown and seedlings I have potted, I obviously have four plots in my head instead of the one in reality

Same here BK. I sow seed in anticipation of beds becoming available, but the harvest is usually late and I too am looking for some more lawn to dig up to accommodate the pumpkins and squashes!

Glad I'm not the only one It never seems as much until you're planting out and working out final distances.

We measured all our beds and I plotted them out on graph paper, then marked how many of veg went where. (well you've got to do something when it's snowing)
Now we're coming to plant things up and in real life the beds seem to have shrunk.

Heh, did the same with my beds too. Am DETERMINED to jam plants in though anyway. They can fight for nutrients and provide some entertainment that way - that'll teach them to trick me into thinking they were smaller than they actually are!
