  • My Good Deed for the Day .......

... I rescued a ladybird off a lettuce in the supermarket today, brought him home, albeit on a different variety to where I found him.

He is now at home munching the greenfly on my chilli plants!

Blimy, I wonder how it survived the disinfectant they wash them in?!

I rescued a beautiful big bumble bee from the carpet of a corridor at work today. She was very close to being trampled! People wondered who I was talking to saying things like 'there's a good girl, aren't you a beautiful girl, steady steady, there's a good girl...'

Do I care what they think - no I don't!

Oh, and well done you Printemps, I'm glad you got him home safely.

Janeyo - I doubt if the lettuces here in France get dunked in disinfectant, they normally just cut off the outside leaves, so we end-users get all the bugs and dirt. Added value obviously!!!

And he's now eating the bugs on your chillies??? So not entirely altruistic then.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

His choice to munch on bugs on chillies - not mine. I just set him free on a Datura, but he found an enjoyable not too far away! Honest guv!

Mr Dandy harvested some lettuce leaves for his lunch yesterday, obviously didnt wash them properly, as there was a ladybird there when he came to eat them! He left it in the container for the rest of the day and brought it back home again - so it had a day trip to London!

He wouldn't be happy, he's not used to daylight. Probably spends all his free time playing on his Xbox
