be a flippin shame if it does, but can anything truly die out these days when it is recorded on film?

that means it can be ressurected at any time, without danger of having forgotten which guy you hit with your stick, and which one you wave your hanky at

we could open 2012 with a drunken street fight, that's the new national pastime!

I am afraid I cannot see any Morris dancing without collapsing in a fit of the giggles, usually with oH trying to drag me away. They look so silly waving those little hankies and bashing sticks and poking each other up the bottom and jingling along..... I would be VERY happy never to have the misfortune to encounter any clogging up my high street ever again.

I have always firmly believed that it should be our 'return' to the Haka* challenge

Come to the Wimborne Folk Festival in Dorset, it's an annual event and Morris Dancers aren't dead, 3 days of brilliant fun.

I would like to preserve most traditional things ... but Morris Dancing would go in my Room 101, sorry.

in Cornwall we used to dance around the May Pole* on May 1st to increase our fertility - well, some of the girls did - I was usually in the pub

I wonder, was this the fore-runner of pole dancing

Oh my, there are two things you should never try:

                              Incest and morris dancing.
