  • MINI UK are wonderful!!

Hi Guys, just had some fab news!

My pride and joy, my MINI Cooper (JCW) developed a fault last week, which means she's been off the road, the Power Steering Pump has got a problem, which normally costs £700 to fix, and as the car is now 3yrs and 3 months old, its out of WT!

I got onto the MINI2 owners forum, got some great advice, and booked her in for an insepction today!

Just had the dealer on the phone, MINI UK are replacing the pump free, I've just got to pay for the consumables and half the labour, which is fab news considering it could have cost me up to £700 to sort out! They've even given my baby a valet too, FOC! Cant wait til 5pm when I can pick her up!

Just gotta say how brilliant MINI are to be doing this for free! Wonderful cars, and wonderful service! And just goes to show that by visiting a forum and getting some advice you can get things done, even if its out of warranty!
    Blessings
    Suzanne (aka Mrs Dobby)

Good news there Mrs Dobby. However, the cynical part of my nature asks if it is maybe a known problem with the part and that is why it is being replaced for no cost?

You could wash the whole family.

Just take the car (with all the family) to one of those car washes that you drive through. Ensure you keep the windows open at all times.

You'll all emerge at the other end, blow dried and wax-shiny!

                      I miss my mini too!!

great service, I would write a nice letter about that, because there are always complaint letters, and somethings its nice to write about positive things.

Once a Mini lover always a Mini lover, i think anyway x

Yeah but Mini are german and part of BMW and I hate BMW!!!![Used to work for them and you would not belive some of the stuff that goes on]
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Kind of feel similarly Cloud. Younger son was very anti new mini until he had a run with the Dobby's in Mrs D's mini. Now his loyalties are torn - does he prefer big brother's 1983 mini convertible or the new, modern, all mod-cons variety?

                            Original is best!

BMW knew what they were doing when they bought Rover. They had no intention of keeping the Rover brand just wanted the rights to MINI and I hate them for that alone!!!
I hate them more than I hate Cats and Dogs.LOL.

BMW may well be German and Mini may well be part of that group BUT remember that whilst it is a German paycheck [sic] being written out it is ENGLISH engineering
